The NHS prediction now indicates TWO storms, maybe to
become hurricanes, about to form near Cuba. The first
is to the west - and would likely track into the Gulf.
The second is just off the east end of the island and
might affect the US east coast.

The exact tracks are a matter of timing, since large
fall high-pressure areas are now tracking over and
down the USA. The first storm could impact anywhere
from Texas to Florida and the second anywhere from
Florida all the way up into New England.

So, thought it was OVER ? NOT !!!

Followup :

The NHC now has a storm tracking up through the Gulf
next week. LIKELY to be a TS, but ya never know there.
Impact somewhere between Tampa and Tallahassee, just
like the others. Arrival, Friday or Saturday.

At least the elections will be done with (though
the screaming will have just begun :-)

There's another 'potential' area right off the eastern
tip of Cuba. No predictions for it yet.

Anyway, next year, find SOME way to cool that
patch of water down near Nicaragua if needed.
'Dust', biologics, whatever it takes. We CAN do
geo-engineering, so let's get to it. The price
of NOT doing so is getting extreme.

That's exactly right. Doing nothing about climate change is going to be
FAR more expensive than doing something.

Just as doing nothing about Ukraine right now is going to be FAR more
expensive in the future.

True. And Trump's plan to get rid of FEMA and the National Weather
Service is not going to make things all better.
